Can anyone please give details to me regards what are all the things i require to implement an SD module.
The organization structure how do i structure it.
If any1 has a mini-project like thing it will be really appreciated.
My PL said its a too difficult task for a starter and it should be done by two-three yrs of EXP ppl but i guess thats how all we start.
I am reading this book "Implementing SD" by Glynch, but i need some sort of requirements documents like thing where i can generate the whole process and structure...
Please post a requirement documentation having the details of how many division, distribution channel, sales org, what good to be sold, pricing condition, shipping details i need to fill for MM01,cust-master n customer data.
Thank you very much...
Hai,
your question is not so clear. what is your requirement.
in order to implement SAP for a client, we consultants need to follow one methodology. To the worst case at least some milestones or stages we need to follow for implementing SAP.
we need to come to an agreement initially with the client about the scope(modules, sub-modules or functionalities) of that project.
Otherwise, it will be problematic for both sides at the time of hand overing the system and billing.
please go through ASAP methodology you are going to get the clear picture.

Thank u Sukumar,
My point is i want to implement SD module on my own to understand SD module better. If i can get a documented scenario containing the details of things i need to implement then it will be really helpful,i am just a newbie in SD module, sorry SAP as whole.
I am not able to think of a scenario on my own as i dont have much idea abt retail n things.
At later stages i need to make test cases of the same.

The way i learnt SAP SD was a simple way.
Look at the companies around you...say "TXX Motors', look at their business, the company structure, the products they sell, the area of their operation. Taking these as the basic building blocks, build a simple case study and then map the same into a simple structure.
Next proceed with how to sell the products, create a couple of materials/customers maybe by copying from the existing ones and modifying the same to suit you needs. Create document types, pricing, and try to execute a complete Order-to-cash cycle.
To do this, you would face issues related to creation of documents/pricing procedures/inventory/accounting, etc. Try to research the same before getting help, as the issues we resolve ourselves are the ones which always remains with us. In case you are not able to get the issues resolved, people on SDN are always there, seniors in the company can help, always remember to take 'Help' as initially we are kids and learn either by exploring or knowing it from people.
Very important: Try simple cases initially, chalk out a plan, once comfortable with simple cases, build your company/structure to match complex processes.
Understand the processes and as to how the SAP can be used to match those processes.
Each implementation is different as there is no rule as 'One size fits all'. But if our basics are right, we know how to build anything with our knowledge and creativity and the tools been made available to us.

hi,
i guess what your PL said does make sense. However, to get a decent start as you pointed out you can do this way. Take out of domain exp some business process may be to a limited extent.
1) Make an as is process out of that.
2) assuming you are only the client, try to understand which SAP functionalities are required to map that business process.
3) thats going to be your to be document. Blue print
4) Mean while you would come across some processes / requirements not getting mapped to SAP straight .. they are the gaps. Prepare funcitonal specs for them.
5) Your business process would tell how the organization structure should be like.
6) Decide on the integration areas what can be done.. better if you can have friends from FI, MM, PP modules.
7) work on the configs in the system thats the realization.
😎 do unit test , integration test.
9) develop power points / word docs / excel files to help the user understand executing the SAP transactions - thats the end user training
10) finally do some master data upload with LSMW. its like doing the cutover planning and loading data to PRD.
11) now your system goes live.
I hope the above steps can give you a feel of the a mini project. Read the ASAP documenation.
regards
sadhu kishore
