export validations and validation groups - how

Hi Friends,

I am trying to export validations and validation groups. Is there any way to do this?

In SAP MDM SP06 you can export validations by using the Schema Export feature. You simply go into the MDM console and right click your repository, then select export schema. This creates an XML file on your local computer. Next, go to the new MDM server that you wish to import the validations to and right click the repository and select import schema. You will then be presented with a screen that allows you to select the changes to import.

Hi Raags,

You cannot use the MDM Validations outside MDM and exporting and importing of validations is possible through Export Repository Schema and Import Repository Schema operations on the repository.

Follow the below steps:

1. Use the Export Repository Schema option on the repository that contains the desired validations

2. Export generates the XML i.e. Schema Migration File

3. Select the repository in which you want those validations and select Import from Schema option.

4. It displays the entire schema of both the repositories and you can select the things like Validations, Assignments, tables, fields etc you want in the destination repository.
