hi,

If you are doing settings for SMTP,then why are you not going for a mail or soap adapter.

RFC is required if you are having SAP at one side.

Please make your scenario clear.

Hi Awan,

Follow these steps

SAP XI1) RFC Destination (SM59)

a) Choose create.

b) Specify the name of the RFC destination

c) Select connection type as 3 and save

d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.

e) Enter the Gateway host as same details above SID/URL.

f) Gateway service is 3300+system number#.

g) In the Logon /Security tab, enter the client user & Password details of Destination system.

h) Test the connection and remote logon.

if you have any questions please let me know

Thanks

Hi

If you are using XI as your Integration tool, you have to use RFC, IDOC or Proxy connections.

you have to maintain RFC Destinations in SM59 on both R/3 and XI systems to make connection between these two systems for exchanging Idocs.

Similarly, you have to maintain Receiver RFC Adapter with connection info to backend R/3 system to make an RFC call.

For making an RFC call from R/3, you have to maintain RFC Destination in SM59 of R/3.

For Proxies, refer to online document at help.sap.com at the following link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

The TYPES you need for RFC Destinations are:

IDOC - "3"(R/3 Connection)

RFC - "T" (TCP/IP connection

HTTP to EXT. sever - "G"

HTTP to R/3 - "H"

Refer below discussion

Hi,

I created RFC connection in SM59 under R/3 connection and tested...

Tried So01 to mail myself

Tried SOST to check mail

Getting same error messages as i maintion above....

baiscally I had 2 nodes in SCOT

1. IMAIL (Internet mail gateway) with configured RFC connection was working fine. and I was getting all xml messages through mail even I can send mail anyone through so01 tran.code

2. nodes SMTP which is system created byseft wasn't worked at all

-

so I deleted IMAIL and tyring to setup only SMTP only...
