Migrating PRODUCTION SYSTEM SAP 4.71 MS SQL 2000 from 32 to 64 bit ON X64

Hi to all Guru

I need yours help and feedback.

We are planning to migrate our SAP/R3 production system to a new and

faster Hardware.

Actually we have x86 Windows with SAP/R3 4.7 MS SQL2000 32-bit and

Business Information Warehouse 3.10 on Windows X86 with MS SQL 2000 32-bit.

Target is to migrate only the SAP production system X64 Windows with

SAP/R3 4.7 MS SQL2005 64-bit and NO change on the BW platform.

Our question is : is there any contraindications on the interoperabilitybetween the two different platform of SAP/R3 and BW.

BW is charged by R3.

Second Question : because quality and DEV remain on 32-bit platform ( only upgraded to SQL2005 32-bit ) , if I want to copy R3 production on quality the only way to make is export/import and it work correctly , right ? Or can I detach from SQL 2005 64-bit (PRD system) copy and attach on SQL2005 32bit (Quality and DEV) ???

Thanks in advance.

you can detach/attach - see note 960769 - Windows: Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit (x86_64)

Hi markus ,

as always thanks for the fast answer.

Regard the detach/attach , i read the note.

Because the note is regarding the migration from 32-bit to 64-bit and not viceversa I post here the question : I did not find a note that regard database copy from sql64-bit to sql32-bit !

So can I detach also from SQL2005 64-bit and attach to SQL2005 32-bit ?

Do you have already do this?

Thank's Antonio.
