Hi Experts,

I am new to XI. I am tried for File to File scenario. But I am strucked at one place.

Error is: Channel Stopped at Communication Channel.

I have given following settings at Sender Comm Channel...

1. Selected NFS as Transport Protocol

2. File as Message protocol

3. Given my local drive (D:/Test) as Source Directory

4. xi_file.xml as File name.

--> I have tested the configuration in ID and its perfect...

Let me know why the file is not picking up from the source directory?

Regards,

Rams

Hello,

1) try restarting the Adapter Engine.

2) Still then ,

Go to transaction SMICM. see the ICM monitor status - whether it is green or not. if it is not green, then restart your ICM from administrator menu. check whether your J2EE engine is working fine - check this from your basis team to see if the J2EE engine log does not have any error in it. If it has error, then restart your J2EE engine. Also check the connections between SAP R/3 and XI from SM59 transaction.

3) check with full qualified host name in com channel

4)still the problem ,then try to create one more communication channel and give all the crenedtials and delete the previous..

Hi,

3. Given my local drive (D:/Test) as Source Directory

You cant give the file in your Local Desktop.

Either you have to make your Desktop as FTP Server

/people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/08/01/along-came-a-file-adapter-mr-ftp-and-rest-of-the-gang

OR

Upload the File into XI Server Using

1) goto SXDA_TOOLS Transaction code

2) Provide the Following details

Object Type : DXPROJECT

Program Type: BAPI

Program/Method: CREATE

3) Click on Copy Button

4) Select the Source as Presentation Server

a) Select the File where you saved in your Local machine

5) Select the Target as Application server

a) Check the check box Remote Server

b) Select the File type as Physical

c) In File name give /usr/sap/SSD/DVEBMGS00/work\Your file name (This the Server path

Where the file is going to save)

6) Click on Continue

Go to AL11 and check whether the File has been create in the following path /usr/sap/SSD/DVEBMGS00/work

Provide this path in the Communication channel path when you select the Transport Protocol as NFS and you place the file in AL11 directory.

Hi Sesagiri,

I have dowloaded GuildFTP and done with the configuration. Now my question is on Communication Channel.

I have created two folders in FTP

C:\ftproot\In & C:\ftproot\Out

1) What should be the Transport Protocol? Is it FTP or NFS?

2) If it is FTP what is IP and Port? Where do I find the IP and Port detials of the FTP

3) if it is NFS, how do I mention the path?

Please do needful...

Hi,

I have tried with that but now also its giving error:

Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "10.185.39.195:21": java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

One more thing is how to give the folder name:

C:/ftproot/In

Or

C:\ftproot\In

Hi,

Refer this weblog to check if you did everything fine.

/people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/02/introduction-to-simplefile-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart1

If you want to make your local desk top as FTP folder.

First of all you need to install the FTP server in your system and then you can shre your desktop folder or any folder as home directory for the FTP server.

Just download FileZilla_Server_0_9_8a.exe.

Click following link it describe how to install FTP server.

http://www.hostmysite.com/support/dedicated/general/filezilla/

and the following blog will help to make your directory as a FTP root directory.

"3. Given my local drive (D:/Test) as Source Directory"

I do not think you can give a local drive here.

Hi Sameer,

I have selected NFS(File System) as transport portocol...That's the reason I have given my local drive path...

Is it not correct...then why?
