Shared Memory

Hii

I have a Question Regarding Shared Memory..in our

server we have windows 2003 OS N is 0f 32-bit .I came to

know that if we clear the shared memory "Disp+work stopped"

can be solved it seems.Could anyone guide as per how to

clear the shared memory.

Clear the shared memory only helps when system logs indicate problems to start the system due to Shm issues... if you check your dev_w0 logs in a system that is not starting and you see SHM errors then clear the shared memory might help.

Ok but Cleaning of Shared memory might help

for my dispatcher to work hope so..this is one

of my hit and trails ...If you know can you tel me how

to clear them.

usually command cleanipc XX will do the job (been XX the system number)

execute the command from the kernel directory.

Hiii Juan

Tried with the same command in kernel directory but

its not accepting ...did u gave it for windows..I am new to

this Basis and still in trainee mode.ok can you help me in

Disp+work.exe error,Dispatcher gets stopped after 2 minutes

when started.Also these are notices I am observing in event

viewer

SAP-Basis System:Message server disconnected

Sap-Basis System:Initilaization DB-Connect

Failed,Return Code 000256

Database:Database error 1033 at CON

and if you want to have a look at developer trace of disp+work and dev_w0 files plz look in

Forum categories>Application server->Netweaver AS general

this has nothing to do with shared memory... error 1033 usually means you database is stuck either at shutting down or at startup... basically is not online... i pressume you're using oracle DB.

In this case check the status of the DB.

Whatever I type its stating as

Protocol adapter error and I am not able to give any command

to it.In R3trans -d I observed it is showing 0012 code.

could you guide me in detail plz..

What DB are you using?...

how can i help if you're not giving any information.

If you're using oracle just go to SQL prompt and issues a "shutdown immediate" command... if that works then do start the db again and restart your system

hii

we are using Oracle Database,also the command which you said shutdown immediate also I checked but it is not allowing me to login ...a notice called (protocol adapter error )is coming

and I stopped the database and started it many times also

restarted the server but the problem is not fixed.

have you check if the listener is running? also post the full error message,
