Mass change for the Material Price in Project

Hi,

In one of the requirement, we are assigning the materials to project to 1000 activities , but the total components (From material masters) are only 20..

Meaning these 20 materials are used various times within the project.

Because this material has a constantly changing prices. We want to estimate the cost of the project based on the current prices. And do not want to get the prices from material master.

Instead the prices need to be changed manually in CJ20n as and when required

Is there any way we can filter out the 20 components out of 1000 assignments and change the prices in one go for one material code, like a mass change functionality. Or a BDC upload.

Any developement suggestion is also acceptable but need a road map to do it.

Please suggest.

Thanks..

Hi,

I think, Demand aggregation & WBS Grouping will serve the purpose in ur case.

All the materials requirement will get aggregated at a particular grouping WBS Element .But for this the scenario should of valuated project stock.

Thanks

Please find the below link for more details on Requirements grouping.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/d3/a51112e32311d1a6ab0000e83235d4/frameset.htm

Also the following link will help u....

In ur case, all the materials can be grouped under one WBS element, which u've maintained as grouping WBS element.

Thanks

Kishore

Hi,

Was curious how this requirement grouping will help at the Quotation phase.

Here during the planning phase the Material cost need to be planned and this cost needs to be updated manually at once for each material code in the CJ20n.

You may consider the example for planning the cost of the Steel material in the project which fluctuates daily and need to be planned based on the daily market prices.

thanks for the inputs though.

Hi Varshal,

I think you have to go for BDC.

The load file for BDC can have columns like Projects Material no and Price.
