In the following mention path, the component versions of the SAP systems are available.
System->Status->Component version.
In one SAP Systems i can see the value as SAP ECC 6.0.
In the other SAP system the value is SAP NetWeaver 2004s.
Can somebody explain me wht does they mean?
As far as i believe SAP ECC and Netweaver are two completely different layers.
SAP ECC is the application layer and obviously SAP NetWeaver 2004s is the technological layer.
I believed always the version of the technological platform is available in the Component version
section and not the version of ECC appication layer.
Somebody please clarify.
Thanks in advance.
Pramod.
Hello Pramod,
the SAP has begun the process of updating
SAP R/3 4.6C system to SAP ERP 6.0 (formerly named mySAP ERP 2005).
SAP ERP 6.0 will run on top of SAP NetWeaver - specifically SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (formerly named SAP NetWeaver 2004s).
They are also in the process of implementing the SAP NetWeaver Portal, as well as considering using SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI - formerly known as SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure or SAP XI) and SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) in the near future.
