SM51 - Select app server and then click the release information button, this should give you the SAP kernel.

Generally SAP kernel is equal to the OS type (i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit).

What OS are you running ?

Login as <sid>adm and go to the exe directory /sapmnt/<SID>/exe and then execute the following command:

file disp+work

the result will show you if its a 32bit or 64bit. Like below

disp+work: 64-bit XCOFF executable or object module not stripped

Thanks,

Naveed

Hi,

Hitratio is Good.If Hitratio gets below 98% & also swaps will be increased on that time.....Check the Long running background jobs.....if possible cancel it....and also execute SAPPFPAR command at OS level. It will give Min & Max level of Swap space requirement. Finally increase the buffer size.....I hope it will be helpfull to U...If you have any questions revert me back......

Hi

The Hit Ratios of your buffers are pretty good. Which shows system is performing well.

Regarding Swaps, if you have not restarted your SAP instance for a long say 1-2 weeks, the swaps get accumulated in ST02. You should go for detailed analysis for Daily swaps.

Once your restart instance, all swaps will be cleared and new swap count will start.

So until the Swaps counts are too much on Daily basis, you need not to worry.

Hello Rahul,

You need to experiment a bit with Swap space requirements.

The program sappfpar lets you check the minimum and maximum (worst case) swap space requirements for an SAP application server.
