SMD Agent

Hi,

I have just installed ECC6.0 SR 3 on windows 2003, DB MSSQL.which is a domain installtion.

After installation i found SMD Agent instance appears in MMC,

I came to know that in SR 3 SMD agent automatically gets installed,

I have two questions here,

First, what is the use of it and why it has come as default instance with SR3.

Secondly, As i said above its a Domain installation all users gets created in Domain, when i installed Development server i did not face any issue, but when i am trying to install Quality server i found error in the input phase,which is,

" SMDADM user already exits..."

This SMDADM user was created when i installed Dev server.

Please advise to overwith the above issues.

Go to https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/diagnostics then click on Diagnostics Agent Setup Guide .

Also take note that from SR3 this agent will be installed automatically. However you should take note that you shold install one AGENT per server and not one AGENT per instance.
