Very Very Strange Issue

Hi Gurus,

I have a very very strange issue.When the user is creating the returns delivery from a returns order we are getting the error "no material number transferred". Delivery is getting created.But it is not getting updated.Immediately after delivery if we try to see the delivery by copying it it is giving the error "No deliveryxxx no does not exist or archived".Can any one give me some clue on this.This should be resolved ASAP. I shall reward full points.

Hi aram

As you are doing return delivery , that means you are sending the material back to the plant again . That is the reason there wont be any picking qty also.

The return order whatever you create has item category REN which has order related billing.So while creating billing the data flows from order to billing through copy controls

But your error seems that data is not getting updated into database so fastly, if you want to check .That is why it is giving error

Dear Aram Ust,

probably while transporting the data from quality to production Server/Client the respective tables are not copied properly.

so this error may be coming.

what ever u did in quality the same u do in production also,

your problem may solve.

Checked number ranges and the copy controls aswell.Nothing strange in them.Tried everything ,but of no vail.

Did you check if the sales order you are referring to has been marked for deletion?? If that is the case then it might be archived.

So please check

Copy controls are absolutely fine. This is not happening in quality.But it is happening in production system only.Any clues.

Can you please check the material master record for that material in MM03 once and sales order,Check the document flow of the sales order..whether it is showing the delivery for the order.

May be delivery is deleted..please check the document flow from sales order once.

Hi,

Why don't you check the number ranges assigned to the returns order in VOV8? and also open both the systems and check for any configurational differences that may exist between them?? You might just find the reason by identifying the differences between those systems.

Dear Aram,

If the message " delivery no does not exist or archeived" this may happen due to 2 reasons - when you copy the standard document type to our Z document type, other wise due to the no ranges problem.

Try to do the changes in any one of this and check it out you may get it.

Once can you please check the copy controls of RE to LR in T.code VTLA.and make sure everything is properly set.
