/SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK - when to use

Hello,

does anybody have a experiences and/or a recommendation when to use /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK in SNP area...???

So far we were using the program mainly

- on a daily base for the active version

- after a version copy from active version to sim version for the sim version.

This was based on the recommendation of SAP years ago.

Now we got the recommendation to use the Cons check

- for the source version before a version copy

- for the active version after CIF master data transfer.

Any opinion and experience on this cons check topic is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Andrea

Andrea,

To run planning area consistency check before Version copy, heuristic run, CTM un, Opimizer run is a very good practice.

1).for the source version before a version copy

This is a correct recommendation to ensure that correct data is copied. Also always use the 'REPAIR' option.

2).for the active version after CIF master data transfer.

This is to remov any inconsistency which ould have crept in due to the transfer. Again always use the 'REPAIR' option.

As for your last question to whether run the check before the copy or after the copy I would suggest a check BEFORE the copy from ACTIVE to SIM as this would also repair the inconsistencies in ACTIVE.

If we run this after the copy then this would just repair the SIM version leaving th ACTIVE version ith inconsistencies.

Hi Andrea

The new reccommendations you have are correct, the basic "rule of thumb" is to do a consistency check once per day and also following any master data updates, also to run one directly before any major planning run (Heuristic, Optimiser etc).

Hi Ian,

thanks for your fast reply ...

Yes we are doing a cons check also today before our CTM run - for the sim version.

Would it be better to do it for the active version!?

So the current sequence is:

1. version copy from 000 to sim version

2. cons check for sim version

3. CTM run

....

Would it be better to have

1. cons check for 000 version

2. version copy from 000 to sim version

3. CTM run

Kind regards,

Andrea
