Hi Gurus

Here we have already installed EP7.0 as a seperate Box (AS java,BI java, EP,EP Core) which is integrated with BI 7.0 seperate system (one more seperate Box) .

Now We decided to install seperate NWDI server for developing wedynpro applications for that they will do all the developments in NWDI(AS ABAP,AS JAVA,DI) ,this is the seperate Box.

Developments are done in DI and it will be viewed through Existing EP 7.0.

In this scenoiro we required sugesstion on how to proceed like what all the Usage types needs to be Installed in new DI and how we integrate to the Existing EP 7.0(SP14).. what are the postinstallatin steps.....and one more question is, is it possible to install NWDI with out having EP,EPcore on same box.....

valuable inputs are appreciable.

Thanks & Regards

Balaji

You only install NWDI. It's based on WAS Java. You don't need to install any additional usage types in your NWDI. After installation, you configure "tracks" & run time systems for your Portal landscape. You should consider NWDI as a production system - if it is down, your impact development as well as migration of java changes to your portal landscape. You also need to install SLD, I suggest separate instance if you don't have one already.

Hi Balaji,

Information about Usage Types and their dependencies for any scenario can be found in the Master Guide - SAP NetWeaver. Installation and post-installation steps can be found in the appropriate Installation Guide, and in the help documentation (help.sap.com). The Guides are available on the Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw.

Best Regards,

Matt
