Dear all,
I have a requirement where in have to enable FTPS in SAP XI System as well as the remote FTP server.
Can some one please list down the steps required to execute an end to end scenario involving FTP(S).
Apart from this query, I had some questions like
1. Do we have to configure SSL in SAP XI system as well as in the remote FTP server?
2. Do we have to generate the certificates at both ends, I was not clearing about importing the Private and Public key, Can someone elaborate on the same?
3. Is SAP XI 3.0 SP17 capable of handling a FTP(S) scenario/or configuring SSL.
4. Can some give a short description as to how actually this whole flow works, I mean how is it different from normal FTP, what are the improved security features and how is the actual message secured.
Kindly help me, please provide any blogs explaining the configurations to be done at both the ends, the softwares to be used.
Your help will be highly appreciated and rewarded.
Regards,
Younus

Hi,
To configure FTP adapter then check the following link:

you need a software to be installed to make your system act like a FTP server.
you can download any from the following links
1. http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/ftpservers/
2. http://www.ipswitch.com/products/ws_ftp-server/index.asp
Try GUILDFTP .. its a pretty simple software to configure and use.
1. download and install the ftp you need to use like guildftp and etc.
2.Add a user id and password to it.
3.Configure a root path.
4.Grant authorizations to the users like create, delete, append etc.
And you are done.
To create a sender and receiver file adapter with FTP, just check these links on SAP,

File adapter in XI supports FTPS. So, it depends on the entire landscape and which adapter you are using for integration.
