EP:Error:Start of UME Service Failed

Hi,

Customer did some changes in portal system.

After restarting the portal server0 and server1 were not broughtup.

Both were in stopped state.

Error logs:

#com.sap.security.core.server.ume.service.UMEServiceFrame#Plain#Start of UME service failed. Check help topic "Start of UME Service Failed". Technical details: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: > expected to close empty element(ISO-8859-1, row:74, col:41)###

#com.sap.engine.core.Framework##com.sap.engine.core.Framework#######SAPEngine_System_Thread[impl:5]_76##0#0#Fatal#1#/System/Server/Critical#Plain###Critical shutdown was invoked. Reason is: Core service com.sap.security.core.ume.service failed. J2EE Engine cannot be started.#

Please help me out this

As per the SAP we deactivated the wily introscope parameters after that system working fine

Hi that is the source destination for the UME used by the customer.

We can not change that.

Customer is maintenaning the same source for production and test systems also

Those system are working fine.

Thanks for the immediate response.

As u said The path is :

ume.persistence.data_source_configuration set to : dataSourceConfiguration_dcx_iplanet_readonly_db.xml.

It needs to be activated anywhere else..?

Hi,

Go to the configtool. C:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<xx>\j2ee\configtool

Run the configtool.bat file.

Global server configuration> services> com.sap.security.core.ume.service

Change the property ume.persistence.data_source_configuration to dataSourceConfiguration_database_only.xml

Restart the instance. It will come up.. Any queries revert back.
