Hi
I got ECC6.0 installed and can any one tell me how to activate MDM related componets in it. I wanna have some hands on in MDM.
Thanks for your help.
Kiran
Hi ,
To have hands on in MDM, first you need to install MDM server as MDM is a seperate server.
You cannot work on Console,Import Manager and other cilents from ECC.
Folllow the link to install MDM :(give service market place ID)
*To learn about MDM , please click on this link:

MDM ABAP API :
You need to install certain compoents in ECC for that follow this link
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/5105. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
once its done,u can create reports from ECC.But dont forget that first u need to insall MDM and then u may work from ECC by API's to generate reports.
Thanks,
Felix

Hi Kiran,
could you please explain in details what you mean with "MDM related components" in ECC 6.0? There are a few deliverables from MDM available for ECC systems, like MDMGX, MDM_CLNT_EXTR or the ABAP API. But those are not part of the standard ECC installation but have to be installed separately in the ECC system.

What I meant was, after the installation of ECC6.0, I can very well work on ABAP & other functional stuff like SD, MM, etc.
Not that much, but I can also work on XI scenarios by enabling some stuff.
Similarly, can I work on MDM Consoles, Import managers, publishes etc?
I am not sure, but I heard that it can be done by following some process and activating or anabling some thing.
Any one has any idea on this?
Thanks
Kiran
MDM is a seperate system altogether. You don't activate anything in ECC to turn it on. You have to install MDM seperately.
