Hello at all,
i have a very important question, what are the differences between XI and IDOC?
Generated XI an IDOC Data Format?
Because i dont know what IDOC is in compared to XI?
Many Thanks in advance.
Hi ETO,
XI and IDOC are things that are on quite different level:
XI (i.e.SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrstructure / SAP NetWeaver Process Integration) is SAP's platform for process integration using the exchange of XML messages. More information on SDN:
IDOC (typically written IDoc) is an SAP-specific data format for business data to be echanged between different systems.
XI can process any kind of data formats since it's adapters can convert the fomats (also IDoc) to XML and vice versa, e.g. the IDoc Adapter.
