Hi Community
I have following configuration and need to migrate this into a clustered installation:
SAP PI running on NW2004s SPS13, Windows 2003, MS SQL2005.
One way would be to export / import the installation (sapinst), but another Idea is to install cluster from scratch and then export the Integration content on the old server to import it on the cluster.
Does anyone have experience with one of the two scenarios?

Hi,
We use Cluster environment for Solaris. But the concepts should be comparable to them of Windows.
I think the first option is best option, because sapinst permits to install the DB, CS (central services) and CI apart. Even with the sapinst in NW04s, you have the option to install the SAP in HA environment. So you can use the logical addresses defined in cluster environment.
Maybe you have to launch sapinst in two steps:
1. install a HA NW04s PI usage type from scratch.
2. do the system copy separately on the new created environment
or maybe sapinst supports the 2 steps to be done in one. (you have to see in the manuals if it is possible).
You should first prepare and define the cluster environment with the logical addresses for the DB, CS (ASCS and/or SCS) and CI, in order to be able to switch these ressources separately from one node to the other. Maybe afterwards you want to have SAP appl. servers as well. Consider this too in your planning.
See the documents (system copy) in:

Best regards,
Guy.

Or,
can anyone answer the question why there is no "System Content Copy Guide (WebAS 6.40)" available for Netweaver 2004s?
