Hi Experts,
Could any one please let me know what are the rules* for creating SLD objects:
Software Components
Software Product
Technical Systems
Business Systems
Rules in the sense like do we need to follow any standards or Naming convention or any standards that say's you should create SLD objects in particular manner.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!! Gurus............

Hi Sunil,
SLD:
The System Landscape Directory (SLD) is an SAP product that enables you to describe products, software components, logical systems, and technical systems. SAP Exchange Infrastructure accesses this information at design time, configuration time, and runtime.
Relationship Between SLD and Integration Repository/Integration Directory
Design Time(Integration Repository)
Software components and software products as installable shipment entities.
Configuration Time(Integration Directory)
Technical systems (for example, an SAP system), in other words components installed in a system landscape.

The SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) is the central information provider in a system landscape.
The SLD contains two types of information:
Component Information: This is information about all available SAP products and components, including their versions. If there are any third-party products in the system landscape, they are also registered here.
At design time of the integration objects, the component information is extracted from the SLD to define integration scenarios.
Landscape Description: This contains all installed systems in a system landscape.
When a collaborative business process is configured, the landscape descriptions are needed to determine the system information of the business partners involved.
SAP recommends that you use one SLD.
If you have more than one SLD instance, you must ensure that all content is synchronized. The SLD has export and import functions for this purpose. See SAP Note 764393 for more information.
The differentiation SAP XI makes between objects from a logical collaborative process and the installed system landscape is also made in the SLD. However, this distinction is not reflected in the product names (System Landscape Directory).
Business System:
Business systems are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using the Integration Server and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.
The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape. The business systems of business partners are therefore not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use communication components in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a communication component in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system component).

Technical System:
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape.

Hi Sunil,
There is as such no rules mandatory for creating these objects.
but when you are going for content certification there are:
check this: /people/claus.wallacher/blog/2006/07/14/naming-conventions-for-xi-content-packages-used-for-certification
you can use them as well in usual practice.

Sachin
