In case of exporting: You use either Flat or Xml files to export.

If you are using Manual means without Syndication server then Syndicator ask for the disk where you want to save it on local drive.

If you are using Syndication server then File goes into Ready folder of Outbound Port.

In program Files>SAP MDM 5.5>Server>Distributions>MDM+ SQL Server>Repository>Outbound >O/B System Name>O/B Port>Ready>Files

1. When we Export?

Ans: It comes under the Syndication Manager Tool, and totally depends upon the requirements whether the data maintained by MDM is required by 3rd party system or not.

2. Two types of files are: XML and Flat, means Syndication Manager can only export data in two formats.

3. Two types of export are there:

Manual

Using Syndication Server (Automatic)

4. Where the syndicated files go?

Explained in previous reply.
