Hi Experts,
Is it possible to notify by E-mail in the event of a failure sending the sap generated idoc to xi ? Can we handle this in xi or is this done in sap itself?
Please guide me the detailed step if ever this can be achieve in xi.

it can be handled using alert configuration in the both the systems...

To send emails, do the following after configuring the alerts as shown in blog above,
Log on to the alert inbox of the recipient of the alert, select option --> personlization --> Time Independent delivery --> Email .
If scot is configured then now the alert will be forwarded as Email.

Yes. Using alert configuration
we handle this in xi or is this done in sap itself?
It can be handled in both the systems. It is more logical to use it on the side where the chances of error exists
