Sales Order - Error

Hi,

I got error "Entry is too long, format is T-AS1XX" when creating sales order. Material field is highlighted.

Also noticed that materials in every sales order created previously is changed to "T-AS1XX". There is no change in description of material.

I am in environment where there are different users in learning stage.

Any ideas.

My hunch is that one of the users has changed Material number template to "T-AS1XX".

That's the reason why all materials are changed to T-AS1XX.

Go to Transaction OMSL - Material Number Format.

See whether any entries are maintained for field "Material number template".

I feel this field will have entry T-AS1XX in your case. That's the reason for error.

Remove this entry, leave the field blank and save it.

Try to create sales order and advise whether you are getting any error or is it rectified.

Error is resolved.

Thanks for your excellent input. We had this problem from yesterday and no one could solve it and so I decided to post in forum.
