Hi,

I m new to MDM .I m working on SRM 5(Linux based server) .To work with SRM MDM catalog.What Business content is available?

If there is business content for MDM catalog. It shud b installed as per SRM server version or MDM.Or there has to be seperate MDM server installed apart from that shipped in SRM business content.Kindly suggest.

Hi Nisha,

due to the big memory consumption, you should install SRM-MDM on a separate server, otherwise you will have performance issues!

You can find the repository a2a file either on the Installation CD in

directory Business_Content or on the SAP Service Marketplace under

http://service.sap.com/swdc, Installations and Upgrades -> SAP

Application Components -> SAP SRM Catalog-> SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0

Please see also the note 1057316.

Hi,

I have installed the MDM components from the business content of SRM MDM 2.0.

I am using a flat data file for import.

Can anyone tell me the use of .sca files that come with business content?

Hi,

>+ UI components - Have to deploy on J2EE

>- Java API

>- SRM-MDM Catalog search UI

Those are .sca file. You have to deploy it on J2EE server.

Hi,

My MDM version is 5.5 SP5(5.5.41.70)

The Java API version is 5.5.41.58.

When I m trying to connect to MDM repository thru URL;

http://server:port/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM

its giving an error

connection to server failed.

Are there any other configurations required apart from EBP settings.Any other files to be deployed other than sca files?

Nisha

Hi,

How about only http://server:port? If you get an error, that means J2EE server is not up or server or port are wrong. If it works but you get an error with SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM, that means Search UI is not deployed correctly on the J2EE.

Hi,

Please check help.sap.com.

[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/92/fb673ba8ecf22fe10000000a11402f/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/92/fb673ba8ecf22fe10000000a11402f/frameset.htm]

If this is the first time setting up J2EE, please work with your Basis system admin.
