Phantom assembly

Hello,

The scenario is Bom A has A1, A2 and A3 as its child componnents. A2 is again a sub assembly with A21,A22 and A23 as child parts.

A2 is a phantom assembly. Requiremnts for its child parts should get generated but no planned order is required for A2 as it is phantom assembly.

In Material Master of A2 (phantom assembly) =, following settings are maintained.

1) MRP type = PD.

2) Procurement Type = E.

3) Special Procurement = 50 (Phantom assembly).

4) Stratergy Group = 50 (Planning with out final assembly) are maintained.

When we assign BOM A to project activity and run MRP, Planned order for A2 is also getting generated. Which should not as it is maintained as Phantom assembly.

Kindly advise if any additional settings are required to make it work.

SPRO>Production->Basic data->Item Data->Define explosion type

Check whats the setting for the Switch off phantom assembly.
