Hi, we are considered using Solution Manager instead of What's Up Gold for monitoring our systems. Here's what I am being told. Is this true regarding what SMS can do (ie. marked below as Yes)? Thanks!
-
1 be able to send out alert, email, run scripts, restart services etc. - Yes, except services
2 ping monitor a host - Yes
3 Monitor WMI and SNMP values - No
4 Monitor if a windows or tcp services is up/down - No
5 monitor syslog, snmp traps and windows event logs - No
6 trend snmp and WMI values - No
7 autodiscover the network - Yes
8 create reports on what it has monitored - Yes, but limited, exporting data to a reporting tool is suggested
9 monitor exchange/sql stats - No (SQL is monitored if it's an SAP database)
10 web based interface - Yes
Hi,

Thanks Eddy, I saw this but it only states some basic monitoring ubfo like:
System monitoring and administration with:
-realtime alerts which are displayed in a system graphic
-weekly SAP EarlyWatch Alert reports
-central system administration tasks
It doesn;t address the questions I had. I gues it probably can't do the things I was asking about.
