what is difference between baseline & final configuration.
Base line configuration means configuring the system with the available standard functionality,In alomost all the projects standard functionality suits their requirements to 60 to 80 % or more.
If the standard functionality doesnt suit thier business process we hav to do some customization using userexits or some other modifications.
So if we finish baseline and customization then we can say it final configuration is done.

Hi prashant,
We Follow certain steps for SAP-Implemenatation, this we called as SAP-Roadmap.
In this road map we have 5 steps;
1. as-is study
2. to be study
3. Business Blueprint/ realization
4. final Preparation
5. go live
During Realization phase we Do 2 types of configuration 1. base line configuration, which is just a Rough configuration depending upon the discussion with client. in this consultants sits with client in a conference room and according to their needs they just try in SAP.
In final configuration all the business process which is architect by business architect, consultant map that process into Final SAP configuration.
Hope this clears your doubt.
