Netweaver 2004s ABAP Trial too slow

Former Member

Hello Community,

I installed on my Notebook (Windows XP SP2, 1,66GHz Dual Core, 2GB RAM) the Netweaver 2004s ABAP Trial Software but its performance is very bad. I have to wait about 3 - 5 minutes in order to just open a transaction... Can somebody help me on "tuning" the system?

Thank you in advance!

Can you please let me know how many work process is configured. If it is standalone system 4 DIA process, 2 background process, 1 update, 1 update2 process, 1 Enqueue, 1 spool is would be enough.

And check the table spaces from DB02 or BRTOOLS. If the table spaces full it may cause the performance.

process the above steps and restart the system and let me know the output.

Cheers,

Praveen

Thank you very much for the answers!

How can I process those steps? Which Actions do I have to do (which Transactions?)...?

for the first one goto RZ10 ->

Select menu Utilities-> Import Profiles -> Of active servers

Select the Instance profile from the drop down box and select the extended maintainance and change.

you can find the following parameters and change the value is accordingly.

rdisp/wp_no_dia 4

rdisp/wp_no_btc 2

rdisp/wp_no_vb 1

rdisp/wp_no_vb2 1

rdisp/wp_no_enq 1

rdisp/wp_no_spo 1

for the second one goto DB02 -> select Current sizes

you can see all the table spaces with the Used (%) coloumn, if any table space more than 95% it is critical, for that you need to extend from BRTOOLS (this the os command)

BRTOOLS process

enter 2 for Space management ->

enter 1 for extend table space ->

enter 3, it will ask you for the table space name "ex: PSAPUNDO"

and enter "C" to continue and enter "C" to continue

and enter "C" to continue.

Now the table space will be extended.

at least you can see some good performance...

Process the above steps and let me know the output.

Cheers,

Praveen

Does it take 2 to 4 minutes after startup? Or does it take that long for one transaction to respond?

For each transaction / action (button click, ....)

When transactions are running slow in this system, is the rest of the system slow (outside of SAP)? You might want to close all other applications and shutdown any unneeded services and see if that helps).
