Dear Balaji,

There is no seperate document type for the sample process in SAP R/3.

We can copy standard document type OR then we can rename ot according to ours.

One more importent point is pricing to the samples.

We need to define the seperate pricing procedure to the samples as per the requirement and we need to determine that according to the Customer , Document pricing group and sales area.

Noramally for sample only tax will be charged so we need to define pricing procedure in suchway.

I hope it will clear for you,

Regards,

Murali.

Dear balaji,

Sample sale will have no sales tax which is the only one differs from normal sale .Keep customer tax classification against the UTXJ field as 0 in customer master and maintain UTXJ through VK11 against taxcode .

Suggesstion :

If you want control the sample sale , just to identify from normal sale , go for separate document type , just copy from normal order type and name different . This will help you to reconsile sample sale easily.

Hi balaji

Sample sale is free to customer. Ideally we can desp good as sample for testing purpose. As said earlier you can copy standard to yr Y OR Z doc type. Order will not be on the name of customer. This is free sample sales so u have to maintain text on the invoice that - "Free sample Not for sale- No Commercial value" . By this u need not to pay sales tax on the qty invoiced.

Hope this will help.

Hi,

You can use the document type FD- Free of charge delivery. the impact would be that the item category would not be relevant for pricing as the material is being distributed free / sample. You might want to enter an order reason why you are giving the material as sample... like promotion, replacement, new product etc.
