Change of Bin structure after crstion of stor. Bins

Hope you can help me out on this :

We created some bins from range A01-01 to A20-05 using the bin structure in LS10 but, now we have a requirement where we want to split some of the bins in the above range into 2 bins (different sto. sections) and these bins are in between the above range.This will require changing the present Bin structure and create two more structures to facilitate the generation of bins. Is this a good way to deal with such situation?

I think we have to delete the old bins that are already generated by the previous structure- what if we have stock in those bins?

also, is ther a way to assign the bin number as the verification ID for all the bins automatically?

I'd really appreciate if you can leave your opinions and suggestions on this.

Hi Chris,

Storage bins with stock cannot be deleted and also system doesnot allow you to delete the storage bin.

In your case you need to transfer the stock to a seperate bin and then delete the storage bin.
