NetWeaver 7.0 TestDrive - VMware Edition - JCo - Webdynpro problem

Has any of the Linux fans tried to test Webdynpro with JCo on the TestDrive - VMware Edition?

I created a very simple Webdynpro project to display a single line of text that is returned from an ABAP function module. I've defined the JCo connection in model and deployed but I find that it is not possible click any of the buttons on the "JCo connections" tab in the content administrator.

I logged in as "j2ee_admin" and at first I though it was because some roles were missing. But I went in and added almost every role possible from the "user management" screen. I also added "sap_all" the "j2ee_admin" in ECC but none of this helped.

Could it be possible that the buttons are grayed out because the install was done with "no SLD" chosen?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi,

without configuring SLD you can not configure JCo.

check installation document to configure SLD.

service.sap.com/instguides

or search portal forum.

Solved problem with help from a BASIS friend of mine. SLD does need to be configured but note that the VM test drive version is missing a security role that needs to be created when you create the SLDUSER.
