What is the difference between MIRO and Sales Invoice ?

In what screnario MIRO is used for ?

Hi

MIRO is the transaction of invoice verification. When the company receives/purchases stock from a vendor and gets invoice for that, after doing MIGO, the invoice will be verified against the stocks/quantities received.

The sales Invoice is the Invoice given by the company to the customer against the sales made.

Hi,

Sales Invoice is the general invoice we do after delivery.

In normal sales scenario, the sales cycle is as follows

Inquity - VA11

Quotation - VA21

Sales Order - VA01

Delivery - VL01N

Picking, Packing, PGI

Invoice - VF01

This is normal process, where customer orders for some items, and will be delivered to the customer and billed to him.In this type of scenario we do sales invoicing.

Where as some other scenarios like Third Party Sales, where the items are supplied to the customer from vendor, not from the compnay. When a customer places an order, and if the compnay does not have the stock with them, then with ref. to this sales order compnay will raise a purchase order to their vendor, and instead of receiving the stock, compnay will inform the vendor to supply the material directly to the customer and once the compnay gets the confirmation that the material is supplied to the customer then it will raise the invoice to the customer.

In this scenario, using the T. Code MIRO, invoice verification will be done, with reference to Purchase order raised and the vendor will send the stock to customer and raise a Invoice to compnay. Now compnay will do GR and invoice verification using the t.code MIRO.

The main difference is MIRO is used for updating incoming materials while Sales Invoice is for outgoing materials. MIRO is used by MM and sales invoice by SD
