PI Support Pack Strategy

Hi,

Should the PI system be the system in your landscape with the highest support pack level (or at least equal to the other system(s) with the highest SP level)?

I think I read somewhere where SAP recommended this... Does anyone know of such recommendation and possible documentation from SAP stating this?

Regards,

CJ

Hi,

If it’s PI7.0 --- SP 13(default)

For SP details:

Thank you for the replies.

Do you perhaps any reference to SAP documentation/notes where this is stated? I need to "proof" this to the client and they do not want to take any word for it except SAP's.

Hi,

With every new support package SAP incorporate new features.

It is always recommended to use the lastest support pack for all the features which PI has.

Hi CJ,

Yes. Infact SAP recommeds having PI system with the latest Service Pack. The reason is with each new SP SAP added new features. For example scheduling of adapters were made possible from SP 10 and Synch-Aynch bridge was made possible with SP 12. To use XI to the fullest, you need the latest SP deployed.
