Our BASIS team no longer wants us to deploy from NWDS to our remote J2EE development instance using the SDM user id of "Administrator". However, NWDS seems to have this id hard-coded when attempting deployment of EAR files to this J2EE instance.
Is there a way to set a different SDM user id within NWDS or does some config have to happen on the J2EE engine computer.
Our team has searched NWDS unsuccessfully for a setting that would allow us to change the SDM user id.
Rich,
Thanks for the info. We are working with BASIS to get this squared away.

Hi Michael,
You cannot change the UserID for SDM. But you always change password for SDM. So, you need not to use Administrator password for deployment.
Goto remotegui and there you find one option for changing SDM password.
Open remotegui from location:
<drive>:\usr\sap\<system id>\JC<instance number>\SDM\program\RemoteGui.bat

NWDS uses the user id that is set in the engine. You set this userid when you build the engine, it is the same as the j2e admin. I don't know if you can have a separate user id password for just SDM.
