what is the diffrence between product proposal and item proposal.

both are same or different:

Hello,

Product proposal and item proposals are one and the same.

A product proposal is a list of products for a specific customer that is automatically proposed during sales document processing. You can determine yourself which materials should be displayed as product proposals in the sales document. You can also specify the sequence in which the materials are to be displayed in the product proposal.

Once you maintian the product proposal (VA51), assignt the number in the customer master sales tab, so whenever you create a sales order for this customer, the system automatically propose the items.

Product proposals are triggered by the sales area. They are created for a specific sales areas.

Dynamic product proposals are triggered by Customer, since they are created for a customer. In the sales order when you enter the SP, the dynamic product proposal will be triggered.

In sale area data of a customer there is a field product proposal for customer procedure.

if i dont activate in the customer master then also product proposal works fine in sale order.

what is the usage of that field.

What is the difference between the item proposal and material determination product proposal?

Item proposal and product proposal are the same.

Item proposal is the list of materials and order quantities that can be copied into the sales order from the customer master data.

We use VA51 to create the item proposal. Here we get a number.This number is then linked to the customer master data in the sales view. This is very commonly used.

Material determination is very closely related to item proposal /product proposal and is used to swap one material for another in the sales order using the condition technique

Item proposal and product proposal are the same.

Item proposal and product proposal -- It is a tool to create a sales order for a particular customer in short span of time , or in other words item proposal is a fast entry tool to create a sales order for that customer.

Item proposal is the list of materials and order quantities that can be copied into the sales order from the customer master data.

We use VA51 to create the item proposal. Here we get a number.This number is then linked to the customer master data in the sales view. Using item proposal based on the we can track the customer previous purchase behaviour and retain the business. that is one of the advantages.

1) Use transaction VOV8 to configure the document type ("MS" for product proposal).

2) Use transaction VA51 to create a proposal.

3) Enter the item proposal on the sales area data (sales tab) of the customer master record.

4) In VA01 to create a sales order, Select Edit & propose items."
