Detail Scheduling - Merge Planned Orders

We are running block planning in APO 5.0. We created planned orders that are placed on the blocks. The planners would schedule the sequence of the planned orders and then merge them. (/SAPAPO/HEUR_MERGE_ORDERS).

The problem that we are seeing is that sometimes the planned orders are not merging or the rate is automatically changed and reduces the size of planned order. We change everything back to the way it was and try to merge it again and it works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Robert

Pls look at the following prerequisites are met before merging orders

> all orders must be planned orders

> all orders must reference the same production process model

> all orders must be synchronized (identical start and end time)

> all orders must be scheduled on a multi-resource with storage properties (container esource)

> the synchronization must be set as active in the master data for the resource

I do faced the same problem, but I found the orders only gets merged after meeting the prerequisites.

Thanks Vijay, but I can read the SAP help as well. I was looking for something else, maybe a solution that is not documented.
