After several trial and error i realized that the user id and password should be same in NWDI and the SLD systems.
Our NWDI system is java only system. Our SLD system is a dual stack (avap+java) which runs on same instance as solution manager which is also our CUA. Is it a good idea to point our NWDI's Java UME to the solution manager CUA? I think this will eliminate the process of maintaining two user id and same passwords.
The note 718383 [https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/718383|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/718383] stats that it is not possible to change the UME datasource once it is pointed to the ABAP system i.e. dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml .
I would like to hear if anybody implemented this scenario or share any comments with this idea.
Thanks,
RT

Hello,
we have changed the datasource several times. Official it isn't supported from SAP. But if you request consultant service they can change the datasource.

Correct. Good idea. We have done the same. As long as you don't have an global directory, the best soltuion from our perspective.
