Hello,
Long running jobs should be run in background. Admin person should set instance parameters to prevent long running jobs in dialog.
It is not
rdisp/max_wprun_time .
May i know which are the other parameters..in this regard...??
According to my knowledge you can limit the time of running of Work Processes in Dialog using the paramerter rdisp/max_wprun_time.
Thus by setting this parameter to aproper valueyou can stop the long running jobs..
When the time exceeds, the process is stopped and you will be notified with an error message.
Then you can set it as Background jobs...
I don't think there is any parameter other than this to directly identify long running jobs and set it as backgroungd automatically...
Hope this helps
Thank You
Shyam

rdisp/max_wprun_time is the parameter to limit run-time for DIA work processes. Is this parameter not working for you? This does not apply to background processes.

Hi,
For all the parameters defined in SAP profile run the report RSPARAM.
One option would be to have a logon group, say ABC server with longer running time, so those jobs or users can use that particular server.
