Long running jobs paramets or user parameters..!!

Hello,

Long running jobs should be run in background. Administrator person should set instance parameters to prevent long running jobs in dialog.

It is not

rdisp/max_wprun_time

May i know which parameters regarding this..??

thats the one...

rdisp/max_wprun_time restrict the maximun runtime of a dialog process.

You cannot prevent users from running reports on dialog, but you can use above parameter so long jobs in dialog timeout forcing the users to run the job on the background

that is the parameter which you would set for terminating long running reports in dialogue. what value did you set?

dynamic switch of dialog run to background is not possible only user need to decide this wether to run in dialog or backgroud

parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time will decide max time duration that a user can run a job in dialog mode
