Skipping the pre-requiste while oracle upgrade

hi

we are upgrading our SAP database from Oracle 9.2.0.8 to oracle10g. last month we had done the premilinary steps and completed the upgrade. but due to some unavoidable circumstances we reverted the oracle database to 9.2.0.8. now again we are started the upgrade activity so our instruction is to delete all the files in 102_64 directory and all related files and fresh installation

so we deleted the files nad directories inside /oracle/SID/102_64. andwe started the installation on the starting scrren usually it will run the pre requiste and scan the OS and kernel parameters, env parameters and so on. since last month it showed some check parameters and we have applied the patches and tuned the parameters . but starting the fresh installation it skipping that step and go to next step install all the components and we go to back it shows the OS and all th pre-requiste is progresss and remaining pending. we want to have the check list again so we have cleared the oraInventory directory , tmp directory . then also it skips. is there any file to be deleted or cleaned to check the ptrerequiste. i am giving the last month prerequiste check which is not scanning now.

Problem: Some recommended patches are missing (see above).

Recommendation: You may actually have installed patches which have obsoleted these, in which case you can successfully continue with the install. If you have not, it is recommended that you do not continue. Refer to the readme to find out how to get the missing patches.

Hi,

what OS you are using? Check, in the RUNINSTALLER script if the Oracle Installer is called with -ignoreSysPrereqs.

Check sapnote 980426

Excecute runInstaller not RUNINSTLLER on SAP directory

./oracle/stage/102_64/database/runInstaller

-executeSysPrereqs

Hi Bala. I'm don't know your issue. Try to ask in Oracle forums, not sap on oracle. Also read about

Running the Prerequisite Check in Standalone Mode , with "-prereqchecker" flag. Regards.

hi

r u asking about the os level patches and kernel parameters. if it is no. we did not revert the OS level patches and kernel parameters. but have cleared the 102_64 diretory, tmp orainstall directories , oraInventory directories.

since the RUNINSTALLER is an OUI which picks the response file and necessary files from the system to proceed for the installation of 10.2.0. softwwrae.

We are installing the Oracle 10.2.0 software where when u run the RUNINSTALLER command it skips the prerequiste step whch was happened last activity.

i am asking which file to be cleared so that the RUNINSTALLER picks and scan the as required patches.

Hm. As i can understand you are upgrade to 10.2 after go back to 9.2. Are you have returned back the Kernel parameters and operating system patches ? If you tunning it 1 time why you need to view checklist again ? Or some thing that goes not correctly? Regards.
