Hi Kaushik,

you can maintain a status network for each document type in transaction DC10. Therefore just select your document type and then go to 'Define Status

You will find a detailed description also in the SAP Online Documentation under http://help.sap.com for your release. Just go to

SAP ERP Central Component >> Cross-Application Components >> Document Management >> Document Info Record >> Status Management

I hope this information is useful to explain how to define a status network.

Best regards,

Christoph

P.S.: Please reward points for useful information.

Hi Kaushik,

1)In Customization go to,Cross-Application Components -> Document Management -> Control data->define document type or else using T code DC10, select the document type, click on define document status, new entry.

2)To start with we should know about status type (I,P,T,O,S,A &C) In detail.

Consider Status n/w for 3 stages, like Work request(AA), create(AL) and release(FR).

2) Under document status select work request & enter, automatically status & status text will appear.

3) Select the attributes depending on requirement.

4) Fel sel: is optional entry

5)Satus type : I or P depending on requirement.

6)save

7) Repeat the same step 2(AL),3,4, 5(keep blank) & 6. In prev.1 : from popup select the previous doc status(AA).

8)Repeat the same step 2( set for FR),3( set for Release flag),4,5 (S) &6. In prev.1 : from popup select the previous doc status(AL).

This way you can try for any no. of status network.

9) Create DIR with same document type using T code CV01N-for create & CV02N for change and check for status n/w.

😎 select extras ->status n/w you will find the graphical representation.

Meaning of Color in the Status Network

Yellow: indicates the current status

Red: This status cannot be set from the current status.

Green: Green indicates the statuses that can be set after the current status.

Hi Kaushik,

If you are looking for the steps related to setting up of status management in dms then go thru the following steps,

1)Goto DC10--> In the particular Doc type, set indicator for Status Change under attributes and also set *Required

entry* for document status under field selection and save the settings.

2)go back, select the Doc type and double click on Set Document Status under Dialog structure.

3)v wil maintain a status network for four statuses,

work request, inspection required, completed, released

a)go for new entries-->select document status as work request and press enter , you can check the boxes under attributes depending upon the requirements.

Fld Sel.-->wil pop-up window when u set the status for maintaining status log..set this option as required

Status Type--> since work request is ur initial status so set option as Initial Status. SAVE and go back

b)for next status, go for new entries-->select inspection required under doc status and press enter.

follow the same proces as above but here under status type select entry as primary status and under prev. 1 select work request--> save and go back

c)follow the same process above, here select document status as completed, status type as primary status and under prev. 1 select inspection required-->save and go back

d)follow the same process, select doc status as Released , status type as locked and under prev. 1 select completed-->under attributes set for released flag -->save and go back

your status network is ready.

goto cv01n>create DIR>extras-->status network, to check the status network created under DC10.

for every changes in DIR, system wil prompt for status change.

Try and check and feel free to ask any more questions.

Thank You,

Manoj
