I want to do an hardware change ( with 64bit CPU -X64 )and migrate on 64 bit windows platform.

I want also SAP and SQL in 64bit platform - X64 .

OSS note 666805 tell me that this is possible but I have a big problem , I can NOT find on SAP OSS site the SQL 2000 64 bit version !

Any one know if exist SQL 2000 X64 - 64bit and where I can find it ???

Hi,

there is a 64-bit version of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition which has been released and provides for the needs of those customer environments with very large memory needs for the dataserver.

check Note 327494 - Configuration Parameters for SQL Server 2000

HI ,

thank you for the answer.

I read this note so what i understand is that there is MS SQL 2000 64 bit only for Itanium CPU ( IA64 ) , not for X64 ??

My hardware is X64 CPU ( quad core XEON X7350 ) so I must only upgrate to SQL 2005 to have sql on 64bit ?

Hi,

yes you are right.

there is no SQL Server 2000 64-bit on any platform other than Itanium

so go for SQL2005
