Hello all,

I want to know from a SD Sales Organisation point of view.

What are the ket principles of assigning a Sales Org to a Company Code? why and what affects does this have.

correct me if im wrong.

Company Code is the top hierarchy and sales organization is next level as for as SD is concerned.

For example, TATA is a company code and TATA TELECOM, TATA STEEL, TATA HYDRO ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY are all different sales organizations having different process and these are all assigned to TATA. This is only an example like this, there are top companies engaging in different business activities.

Please correct me if I am wrong ,

While mapping in SAP for above example

TATA is a client and TATA TELECOM, TATA STEEL, TATA HYDRO ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY are dealt as different company codes.

Hi,

One sales organisation is always linked to only one company code.

Many sales organisations can be linked to one company code.

Sales org to company code is many to one relationship.

Sales org is the highest org structure in SD. However the revenues from sales are to be recorded in Balance sheet and PL statements in FI. So there should be a connection between the highest SD org structure and the highest FI org structure which is the company code.

So any reporting for a company code includes the revenues of all the sales orgs within the company code.

This applies for all the FI related reports on the sales side.

Hi,

The relation between the company code and sales organization is One-to-Many .

One company code can have many sales organizations assigned to it where as the one sales organization can not have many company codes.
