COuld anyone pls tell me what is sap netweaver and sap ecc?i'm new to SAP?

As far as SAP ECC is concerned,

ECC stands for ERP central component.

In SAP Netweaver platform SAP R/3 is replaced by SAP ECC. its Enterprise Central Component, in SAP Netweaver 2004s the version is ECC 6.0.

There is also a very good document from Thomas Jung here in the SDN

that contain a lot of hardcopies of the changes.

Hi,

SAP NetWeaver is the umbrella term and platform for SAP's technology. It is the technology on which SAP Applications run and also the technology that can be used to build customer applications and technology solutions. you can find more info at http://service.sap.com/netweaver.

SAP ECC is the minimum application installation of SAP ERP. It contains all of what was SAP R/3. You can find more info at http://service.sap.com/ERP. SAP ECC runs on the SAP NetWeaver platform.
