Hi,

We are learning about customizing the screens of SAP using GUIXT and accessing it via PDA or Pocket PC's.

Can anyone suggest a way of accessing SAP from Pocket PC or PDA. Expecting your valuable reply.

hello praba,

SAP MI offers an offline framework for accessing SAP.

WebDynpro for Mobile offers an online one. However, you

need to develop your applications on the client & server

side.

Im not familiar with GUIXT. Is it an alternative for

SAP GUI in accessing thru PDA?

Hi Jo,

Thanks for your reply. GUIXT enables customization of SAP Screens (removing fields that are not commonly used etc) using script commands. But we are not clear about how the GUIXT customized screens can be accessed via a PDA.

hello praba,

it seems that you have to use the GuiXT Designer and Input

Assistant to simplify your screens first.

perhaps this site has the documentation for this.

http://www.synactive.net

Hi Jo,

Thanks for your reply. We have gone through the tutorials in

www.synactive.net and tried simplifying the screens, but the problem is we could not find a way to access those simplified screens via a PDA. We need to know whether any software needs to be installed in the PDA for Kindly advise if you could find a way that explains the steps to access SAP from within PDA.

Hello prabaharan,

as far as i know you can't use the guixt which is shipped with sapgui. For mobile guixt you need GUIXTRF(for SAP Console). On the synactive homepage you find a very short inallation guide for guixtRF.

http://www.synactive.net/site/products/guixtrf_installation.htm

Perhaps it helps and please let us know about your experiences with guixt mobile. I think the way how to do the scripting is the same as for sapgui guixt(textfiles).

Hi Jo and Frank,

Thanks for your information.

In the link mentioned below I could find the GUIXT Designer, Input Assistant etc, but not GUIXT RF. Could you please help me in downloading the same.

hello praba,

what do you need the guixt RF for?

are you trying to use RF equipments as well?

on your first post, it seems that you just want

your simplified dialogs accessible on your PDA,

so what you need on your PDA is the GuiXT Mobile

software to run your scripts generated by your

Designer. you might need a network connection when

executing those scripts in accessing R/3 systems.

GuiXT RF:

GuiXT Mobile:

Hello praba,

Joe is right. You didn't need guixtRF just the mobile version.I also tried to download and test it but i get the same error. It was only possible to download the the Designer and the sapgui version from synactive homepage.

Hi,

Yes, either WebSapConsole or the ITS Mobile (recommended) would be the right choices to access mobile SAP appl. thru a Pocket PC or a PDA that can run a Web browser.
