PI Server

We have our PI server on windows server 2003. We are trying to implement the demo scenarios but are getting errors when testing due to the fact that we can`t logon to the BSP`s.

We get the error message

The following error text was processed in the system:

Die URL enthält keine vollständige Domainangabe (rm0001 statt rm0001. and then what ext?

please let me know what I should do. Also changing the computer name probably wouldn`t work right since when you change the computer name the XI server then doesn`t come up at all?

we had a similar issue. We solved it by doing the following:

1: Ping your host and note down the IP

2: Edit you O/S hosts file to include the host IP and also put your FQDN here.

3: Edit your instance profile RZ10 to contain your FQDN

4: Restart server.

this basically tricks your system into thinking it has a FQDN

Hi,

To check fully host mane Go to SMICM --> Go To --> Parameters --> Display and here you will be able to see the parameter icm/host_name_full.

genarally servername.company.com is fully qualified hostname.

but in your case try like this.

Exceute IPCONFIG on your machine. One of the parameters that will be displayed are:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix: A.B.C.D...

This is tha part that is to be suffixed to the host-name to give the fully-qualified hostname.

It usually contains the company name.

Reward points if help ful.
