Hi All ,

After restarting the hardware and OS , i am getting the following error while starting the oracle

when i checked the path of the control file it does exit at that paths.

Please suggest

what does the alertfile say?

are the locations of the control files identical to the ones in the init<SID>.ora?

Hi Andreas Herzog ,

The alert log has the following error

ALTER DATABASE MOUNT

ORA-00202: control file: '/oracle/<SID>/origlogA/cntrl/cntlrCRI.dbf'

ORA-205 signalled during: ALTER DATABASE MOUNT...

Yes the location of the control files are identical to the once specified in the init<SID>.ora

maybe th file is corrupt....you could try be copying one of the two other control files to that location (rename the original control file - do not copy over!!!) and restart the startup...

Hi Ruzica Kalkasliev ,

There is no other error than the ablove in the alert log.

Is there any way to recreate the control file.

One more doubt

Does anytime all the controlfile gets corrupt?

Is there anyways that it is related to OS problem?

Hi,

Do you have "backup control file to trace" from some of your last backups?

You can recreate the control file if you know all the datafiles in DB, but it's very taf work.

Is this your production DB? Don't you have backup or some disaster solution?

Ruzica
