Hi,
When I tried to install MAXDB in my SOlaris SPARC Station I get an error in the Installation Manager stating SDB User can not be created. Can any one explain me the situation and provide a solution to this?
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
Rajesh Manoharan
This is a well known problem on Solaris.
sapinst is trying to create the user with the home directory "/home/sdb" but "/home" is not exisiting because it is mapped for a logging in using automounter.
The easiest solution is, to create this user manually before your start the installation.

Thanks Buddy!!
Hello Rajesh,
Please update with additional information to get clear on the reported issue:
-> What version of the database are you going to install?
-> Did you start the installation as root user?
-> Are you SAP customer? Did you follow the steps of the MAXDB installation guide?
-> Please post the installation log to the thread.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
