Hi
I am trying to configure DMS (Document Management).
Is there any document with a step by step and basic concepts?
Currently, I have got the following message when try to display a document (supposedly inserted successfully):
Function "" not possible if network address is default.
Regards,
Ronaldo.

Hi all,
the error you mentionned indicates a problem with the data carrier
customizing. So I would kindly ask you to check if there is a data
carrier maintained in your system. If not, I recommend you to maintain a
data carrier in transaction DC20 as follows:
1. Run transaction DC20
2. Double click on "Define Data carrier type server, front end"
3. Create a new entry (e.g. "PC") and a path where originals could be
downloaded when displayed (e.g. C:\Temp). Please see also the
information button on this screen for further information.
Further please maintain a default entry for frontendtypes under point
"Identify frontend computers" by clicking on the button 'Default
entry'.By making a DEFAULT entry in this table, you can identify all
standard computers for which no "HOSTNAME" variable has been maintained.
Otherwise you need to maintain an entry for each front end computer.
Please also see the information given by the info button.
To solve this issue I would recommend you to maintain the variable
'hostname' in the system settings of your PC. Therefore please go to the
System control panel and choose the entry 'System'. Here switch to the
tab 'Advanced' and press the button 'Environment Variables'. Here add
the variable 'hostname' in the system variable area. As value you can
enter some name or number. This value will then be taken automatically
from the SAP system and stored in table TDWD. After adding this
variable and restarting your PC the display should work for the
originals now.
Best regards,
Christoph
P.S.: Please reward points for useful information.
Hi Ronaldo:
Could you solve the problem you posted?
I'm having exactly the same problem in QA System, but not in the DEV system and don't know what to do.
Regards,
Patricia
