Why XI required for EBP-SUS

HI Friends

I just want to clarify even through SUS is SAP system why they are using Xi in between EBP -SUS

you could have referred the earlier discussions on this subject in forum.

There are different interfaces designed by SAP for different software components in business suite.

Among the software components of SRM the components dealing with external business partners viz. SUS, ROS, CCM are interfaced with more secured mode i.e. XML message.

which is originated from XI.

XML is extensible mark up langaugae ,can be tagged , considered more secure.

Hence EBP to SUS the inteface is XML message in turn XI.

But for EBP to MM it can be TRFC, BAPI or IDOC depending on the scenario.

In the Case of EBP-SUS , there are two different systems involved.

One is the EBP system , other is SUS system.

They are two different clients , and the documents flow from one system to another in the form of XML Messages...

XI system is used for routing --> XML Message from EBP system is to be routed to correct SUS system.

here XML message is send from EBP to SUS system and the document remains the same.

in the case of MM-SUS scenario , IDOC from MM is converted in to XML by the XI system and is routed to correct SUS system..
