hi,
We can define our own exchange rate types and use them instead of the defaulted types, 'M', 'B' and 'G'. How can we overwrite default types in SD?

Hi,
If you want to do it, you can do it. But that will have farfetching consequences.
Irrespective of the exchange rate type you use, FI always uses M. So it is advisable not to use any other exchange rate type.
Pls discuss with your FI counterpart and then decide.

I don't really understand your pb, but You can try to use different Exchange rate type in customer master data sales view, sales tab.
Best regards,
